Eat the hamburger and skip the bun.

Eating saturated healthy fat does not end up in your bloodstream.

Eating carbohydrate does end up with unhealthy fats in your bloodstream.

This is the latest article from Steve Phinney and Jeff Volek and it continues to indicate that eating fat is not the problem . Eating carbohydrate is.

Eat the hamburger and skip the bun.

Where will the madness end?

Meadow Lea has sunk to a new low recently with the introduction of “Breakfast Twists” – Chocolate, Cinnamon and Caramel.

“Breakfast is better than recess”. This child is as high as a kite in this infomercial from last week.

Thank goodness it has no artificial flavours or colorings. It is ONLY 20% sugar and 45% vegetable oils. This has got to be straight poison for breakfast.

Heart Foundation must be having chest pain

deathtick1

The Australian Heart Foundation remains on shaky ground after the Low Carb Catalyst programme.

It must be becoming an interesting fence to sit on at the Heart Foundation these days. Do we keep taking money for the food tick and supporting the old notions of saturated fat is bad and processed seed oils being good or do we start to back down and listen to the latest research?

The Canadian Heart Foundation have recently removed their health Heart Tick programme. They are way ahead of us.

The longer the Heart Foundation stick with their sponsorship deals the more tenuous their position.

The evidence that sugars, carbohydrates, and polyunsaturated oils contribute to cardiovascular disease is mounting. I wonder who is pulling the strings at the Heart Foundation these days.

Interesting how much sponsorship they receive from the pharmaceutical industry.

MSD, Servier, Pfizer, Novartis, Astra Zeneca, Lilly, Abbot, Aspen and  Boehringer Ingelheim. That covers most of the big ones.

Reading the Heart Foundations annual report does not give us specifics but there appears several million dollars of charitable non bequest funds outside of fundraising.

“The Answer is in the Pyramid”

“The Pyramid is upside down”

A recent South Park episode looking at gluten free diets nails the topic of our modern diet on the head.

The ‘bureaucracy’ recognise that health is related to nutrition. Wow – first step.

The USDA try “all combinations of the 5 food groups but none are working” until they put “butter and fat at the top”.

When they recognise that the long time promoted food pyramid has been upside down, they send out the NEW food pyramid and immediately “Nutrition is stabilising!”

The Magic Bank Account

Gary Fettke No Fructose's photo.

Imagine that you had won the following “PRIZE” in a contest: Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400 in your private account for your use. However, this prize has rules:

The set of rules:

1. Everything that you didn’t spend during each day would be taken away from you.

2. You may not simply transfer money into some other account.
You may only spend it.

3. Each morning when you wake up, the bank opens your account with another $86,400 for that day.

4. The bank can end the game without warning: at any time it can say,”Game Over!”. It can close the account and you will not receive a new one.

What would you personally do?

You would buy anything and everything you wanted? Not only for yourself, but for all the people you love and care about. Even for people you don’t know, because you couldn’t possibly spend it all on yourself, right?

You would try to spend every penny, and use it all, because you knew it would be replenished in the morning, right?

ACTUALLY, This GAME is REAL …

Shocked ??? YES!

Each of us is already a winner of this “PRIZE”. We just can’t seem to see it.

The PRIZE is “TIME”

1. Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds
as a gift of life.

2. And when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is Not credited to us.

3. What we haven’t used up that day is lost for ever.

4. Yesterday is forever gone.

5. Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time WITHOUT WARNING…

SO, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?

Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in dollars. Think about it and remember to enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than you think.

So take care of yourself, be happy, love deeply and enjoy life!

Here’s wishing you a wonderful and beautiful day. Start “spending”….

“DON’T COMPLAIN ABOUT GROWING OLD…!”

SOME PEOPLE DON’T GET THE PRIVILEGE!

Preventing Cardiovascular Disease in Diabetes (and the whole population)

Gary Fettke No Fructose's photo.

Get your Triglycerides down and pay a lot less attention to cholesterol levels.

‘Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

We demonstrated a direct association between long-term mortality risk and triglyceride levels.’

Triglyceride levels are an indirect measure of the small dense Low Density Lipoproteins (small dense LDL’s) that are often known as the ‘bad cholesterol’ particles.

The production of small dense LDL’s is directly from Fructose consumption and indirectly from carbohydrate (glucose) intake.

Too much Fructose and Carbohydrate consumption, whether or not you have Diabetes, will result in elevated Triglycerides.

The Triglyceride measurement on your cholesterol or lipid test is the most relevant. If you can get it below 0.8 mmol/l then you will have virtually no small dense LDL’s and that means cutting your risk profile for heart disease dramatically.

How to do it? Cut back on the sugar and refined carbohydrates. LCHF is here to stay long term.
