Kidney Disease

  • Renal disease is increasing in society.
  • Hypertension is a major contributor.
  • Obesity is a major risk factor for renal failure and kidney disease.

IDEAS

The consumption of Sugar and Polyunsaturated Seed Oils combine in our diet to create inflammation in every blood vessel wall and in every tissue in every organ of the body. The inflammatory process makes everything susceptible to damage and disease.

The kidney is the end organ for Uric Acid excretion and is also sensitive to hypertension. It is particularly susceptible to damage from Fructose consumption.

MORE INFORMATION

Renal Disease

Renal disease is increasing in society.  As a result, renal failure and the potential development of chronic renal failure and therefore dialysis and/or renal transplant all are increasing.

The presumed mechanism of action is related to hyperuricemia and the elevated uric acid level has a combination of effects.  Uric acid can create a renal artery vasoconstriction as well as a microvascular vasoconstriction.  The combination is that of a hypertension within the kidney and the glomerular filtration system is particularly sensitive to hypertension and damage.

It is well noted that patients who have an elevated uric acid level in association with diabetes have a high rate of deterioration and acceleration of renal disease.

Uric acid may in fact also have a direct injury effect on the tissue.

There has been some literature to say dropping down the uric acid level may have a protective effect on the renal tissue architecture.
